Emily Shaw is a multidisciplinary artist and writer from Prince Edward Island. She received her BFA from Mount Allison University in 2021 and has since worked with various cultural organizations such as the Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design, this town is small, Brown Ledge Camp, and Humane Canada, providing research, curation, grant consultation, and creative leadership. Shaw’s work has led her to become a member of the Art Gallery of Ontario’s National Youth Council and United World College Canada’s National Selection Team.
Her evolving practice explores storytelling, fibre arts, zine-making, and improvisation, and her work has been featured at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery, in Visual Arts News, and in Tussle Magazine. Shaw is currently based in Montreal and is being mentored by artist and musician Amery Sandford.
