Fighting Hunger through ACTion!
Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins ACT is an organization in Timmins that fights hunger and works towards food security so that nobody within the community goes to bed hungry. ACT has three big programs; Good Food Program, Collective Cooking, and Community Gardens that strives to tackle the reasons behind hunger and help people get nutritious foods. The ACT team; staff and board members work very closely together and all strive to see a more food-secure community for all!
Mission
The Anti-Hunger Coalition of Timmins’ mission is to increase access to local, healthy, and affordable food. To facilitate education and skill-building to community food matters, while also addressing the gap that prevented Timmins from being a food secure community. It is also important to ACT to foster community relationships that offer creative solutions to local food issues.

Your Commitment to this Board:
Meetings a Month/Yearly: 9 meetings a year, ACT does not hold meetings in July, August, and December
Monthly Time Commitment: 3-5 hours monthly
Meeting Location(s): Hybrid
Duration of Term Commitment to this Board: Minimum of 1 year, but young directors can decide duration of time
