Raphaëlle Jouannic is a project officer in international cooperation within NGOs and the UN system, and a fervent advocate for gender equality. Born in France and currently based in Canada, she champions youth activism as a driving force for social change. With a multidisciplinary Franco-Canadian background in communications, humanitarian work, political science, and gender studies, she applies her expertise to international cooperation on issues such as gender-based violence, women’s rights in conflict settings, and the promotion of positive sexuality, as well as women and girls in science.
As a WAVE Youth Ambassador, she co-led the "I am a Woman/Girl in Cyberspace" European campaign and spearheaded a series of feminist project management capacity-building workshops to equip youth with the skills to act on their convictions. She was also selected as a Youth Representative by the European Union’s Equality Institute during the 2024 Gender Equality Summit to contribute to the next EU Gender Equality Strategy. She is now pursuing her activism in Canada as an active member of Generation 5, to support the empowerment of young women in the francophone decision-making space.
