Masooma is a first-generation Pakistani-Canadian mechanical engineer and social impact strategist whose work lies at the intersection of sustainability, civic innovation, and equity. She is an ACGC Top 30 Under 30 Award recipient and an AWSN Women in STEM Award winner, recognized for her leadership in advancing gender equality, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
Passionate about food security and inclusive policy, Masooma serves on the executive team of the Youth Coalition for Food Security, an organization dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening food systems for northern communities. She has also contributed to initiatives with ReImagine17 and Let’s Talk Science, where she supports youth-led action on sustainability and equity in STEM education.
As a dynamic advocate and bridge-builder between engineering, advocacy, and community, Masooma’s work is guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. She is deeply committed to ensuring that gender-marginalized and racialized youth are represented in decision-making spaces that shape the future of innovation and sustainability.
