Hewot Dawit received their degree from the University of Toronto (Scarborough Campus), majoring in Human Geography with a double minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Film Studies. They later completed the Community Worker Program at George Brown College.

Throughout and following their studies, Hewot has built over five years of experience in community engagement and program planning across a range of sectors, including galleries, non-profits, social services, public consultation firms, education, and housing. They bring a strong curiosity and care about the deeper connections between people and their environments.

In their downtime, Hewot enjoys running (though they prefer a leisurely jog), watching films, and reading.
