Amran Adam [she/her]

Rise on Boards+ | Cohort 3

Amran (she/her) is a first-generation Somali-Canadian driven by a deep commitment to justice, equity, and community healing. Growing up, she witnessed how systemic barriers, gun violence, and unaddressed mental health challenges impacted the lives of those around her. These experiences shaped her desire to help change the narrative for marginalized youth and advocate for spaces where healing and growth are truly possible.

She is passionate about addressing health inequities and ensuring that everyone, regardless of background has access to compassionate, quality care. Her leadership has often centred around community-building and youth empowerment, from organizing cultural events that celebrate diversity to mentoring young people through challenging transitions.

Now pursuing her path toward a career in medicine, Amran hopes to bridge her passion for healthcare and social justice by creating spaces where voices from underserved communities are not only heard but valued in shaping better systems of care. Her journey reflects a belief in resilience, empathy, and the power of using one’s voice to open doors for others.
