Halima Al-Turk [she/her]

Halima is a policy professional currently serving as a Policy Analyst at Alberta's Ministry of Energy and Minerals, where she provides strategic policy insights on energy-related issues.
Halima’s career spans both federal and provincial levels. At the federal level, she contributed to immigration and labour mobility with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and worked on financial initiatives at Transport Canada. Provincially, she gained experience with Alberta's Ministry of Jobs, Economy, and Trade and served as a Ministerial Intern in the Ministry of Status of Women and Children’s Services, where she supported outreach and policy initiatives focused on women and children.
Halima holds a Master of Arts in Policy Studies from the University of Alberta and has been recognized for her leadership. She received the Graduate Course-Based Master’s Community Engagement Award and was named one of Alberta’s Top 30 Under 30 for her contributions to gender equality and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Outside of her professional work, Halima is committed to diversity and inclusion. She served as Co-Chair of IRCC’s Diversity & Inclusion Ambassador Network, advocating for inclusive practices, and has contributed to youth policy work with the City of Edmonton Youth Council.
