Christeen Salik [they/them]

While they hasve held many roles: Founder, Creative Director, Mindfulness Facilitator, Anti-Oppression Trainer, Arts-Based Researcher, Intuitive Spoken Word Poet, and Motivational Speaker, among others – Chris/teen’s favourite title is “Peer.”
Their podcast The 90% Living (@90percentliving) speaks about the truths of living within an equity-seeking body with multiple-diagnoses. Their educational tid-bits empower listeners to move from a place of surviving to thriving.
They’re in the weeds with you, which means you’ll see their faults and failures displayed proudly in everything they do – because they believes to fail is to accept your humanity. And to continue after failing is to access your agency.
You can often find Chris sweating it out at her local Power Yoga Canada or Orange Theory Fitness Studio, talking about South Asian-Canadian mental health to a wide range of audiences, or at the recent Film Festival, Conference, or Summit where they host Decompression Spaces as the Director of Accessibility at HELD Agency.
Christeen hopes to help others access storytelling and vulnerability as a strength, and emphatically invites any conversations on mental health from all who hear their work.
