Beryl-Aissatou Kem-Bumbara

Beryl-Aissatou Kem-Bumbara is a Cameroonian-born, internationally raised, third-culture individual with a deep-rooted passion for justice, equity, and community advocacy. Having lived in over seven countries, Beryl brings a global perspective and a strong commitment to inclusive, anti-oppressive work.

With over five years of experience in grassroots organizing and policy work, Beryl has led campaigns focused on promoting equity, accessibility, and challenging systemic injustices. As a result of her deep commitment to inclusive and community-centered approaches, she has worked across student unions, non-profits, and national advocacy organizations to drive change on issues ranging from gender-based violence and anti-racism to education accessibility, Indigenous resistance, and climate justice.

Currently, Beryl works as the Campaigns and Education National Lead at the Canadian Federation of Students and volunteers as a Project Researcher and Support Worker with Project Agape, where she continues to prioritize the voices and needs of marginalized communities. Whether she is lobbying at the federal level or developing survivor-centered justice initiatives, Beryl is guided by a commitment to liberation, transformative justice, and youth empowerment.

Holding an Honours BA in Law and Society, and Psychology, Beryl combines academic insight with lived advocacy to push her work in community-led change.
