Vania Russell is a first-generation university graduate and Bahamian immigrant committed to advancing health equity through policy, research, and community-driven advocacy. Currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on climate change, human health policy, and environmental and occupational health, she bridges academic expertise with real-world impact. Driven by a passion for social justice and systemic change, Vania has collaborated with NGOs and community organizations to design and implement programs that address health disparities among vulnerable populations.
From coordinating public health initiatives to leading outreach for homeless and Indigenous communities, her work amplifies marginalized voices through data-driven policy recommendations and hands-on advocacy. A firm believer in inclusive governance, Vania leverages her lived experience as an immigrant and first-generation student to break down barriers in healthcare and education. Her leadership—rooted in crisis intervention, mentorship, and cross-sector collaboration—reflects her unwavering commitment to equity.
