Valerie Kristen Moran is a Registered Social Worker and mental health professional with over six years of experience across the non-profit and healthcare sectors. She holds a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Human Services Management & Leadership from the University of Toronto.

Valerie has held leadership roles in leading mental health care organizations where she advanced service improvements, supported multidisciplinary teams, and championed DEI practices in content strategy and clinical programming. She brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, transformational leadership, and board governance experience to her work.

Passionate about building systems that reflect the strengths and needs of the communities they serve—particularly women, youth, and equity-deserving groups—Valerie has contributed to initiatives spanning strategic planning, clinical research, speaking engagements and mental health program development. Deeply committed to innovation within human service organizations in Canada, Valerie uses her voice to amplify the needs of underserved populations and foster community-driven change. Through Rise on Boards(+), she is eager to deepen her governance capacity and contribute to boards that share her values of equity, social justice, and mental health advocacy.
