Kezia Alaia [she/her]

INDONESIA | Culture and Recreation
Kezia is a multidisciplinary creative working across writing, translation, and cultural production. She published a book of poetry in 2015 and has translated several nonfiction titles on AI and technology. She continues to explore language as a medium—through poetry, interpretation, and cross-cultural storytelling.

Her work spans roles in creative strategy and production, with experience in Web3, digital fashion, and experimental media. Based in Jakarta, she produces independent events and videos that merge music, performance, and spatial storytelling. With a strong interest in movement, fashion, and the body, her practice connects culture with emerging technologies—centering emotion, form, and intentional world-building across mediums.

Her project, Aura Training, is a guided performance and movement workshop for emerging stage performers in Greater Jakarta, including singers, dancers, vocalists, and actors. It offers accessible, high-quality training and mentorship for young artists from underground and marginalized communities who often lack access to formal music and performance education. Many participants work freelance jobs to sustain their creative practice, yet have limited opportunities for structured growth or professional exposure.

The program connects participants with experienced mentors and creative collaborators through a series of workshops, studio sessions, and live showcases. It aims to build technical skills, artistic confidence, and sustainable career pathways through hands-on training, portfolio development, and direct industry engagement.

By prioritizing access, experimentation, and long-term support, Aura Training addresses systemic barriers in the performing arts. Grant funding will enable the team to provide studio space, transport, meals, and mentorship, ensuring full participation regardless of background or income. The program nurtures a new generation of performers who are shaping culture from the ground up and redefining what it means to belong in the arts.
