Harnoor Kochar [she/her]

Harnoor Kochar (she/her) is a community and political organizer passionate about creating a more equitable society for women, immigrants, and racialized communities. As an immigrant, she brings a unique lived experience to her work. Working both inside and outside of electoral systems to pursue justice and equity, Harnoor has extensive experience as a coalition builder and a leader on political campaigns across municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

Harnoor currently serves as a Senior Outreach Officer with the Alberta NDP Caucus, where she leads strategic outreach efforts across Edmonton, Northern Alberta, and Mid-Size Cities—key priority regions for the organization. She also served as the Edmonton Lead for the South Asian Social Justice Network with the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians, where she helped establish Alberta’s first every South Asian advocacy network. Previously, Harnoor was Director of Engagement and Outreach at Northweather, designing and executing campaigns to drive political and social change.

In addition to her professional work, Harnoor volunteers as Director of Programming with Ask Her, an organization dedicated to advancing inclusive and equitable representation in municipal government by training women and gender-diverse candidates. In 2024, she led the graduation of Prepare Her’s largest and most diverse cohort to date.
