Jennifer Zhang [she/her]

Jennifer (she/her) is a Private Equity Associate at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP), where she works for the Primary Funds’ team investing in and managing private equity fund relationships across North America and Europe. In this role, she has helped deploy capital to leading fund managers, including underwriting a multi-million-dollar commitment to an impact-focused private equity fund advancing both financial returns and measurable social and environmental outcomes.
Beyond her investment work, Jennifer is a committee member of OTPP’s Pride Employee Resource Group, organizing firm-wide initiatives to foster inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ equality. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst at BMO Capital Markets, working across Toronto and Beijing.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce with High Distinction from Rotman Commerce at the University of Toronto, where she specialized in Finance and Economics. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Research Assistant on a working paper examining financial inclusion and its impact on minority groups. She also led a pro-bono consulting project for a nonprofit supporting girls’ education in rural India. Jennifer is passionate about building equitable systems and is excited to leverage her experience in governance and finance to support purpose-driven organizations.
