Yasmin Hassan is a passionate community leader and advocate committed to addressing food insecurity and empowering marginalized communities. With a background in English and History, Yasmin has cultivated strong communication and leadership skills, both in non-profit work and community engagement. Currently, as an Event Coordinator at Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank, Yasmin plays a pivotal role in organizing both large-scale and community-based fundraising campaigns alongside fostering relationships with donors, volunteers and corporations. Having experienced the challenges of growing up in poverty, Yasmin is deeply committed to social justice, equity, and inclusion. Her lived experience has shaped her approach to leadership, emphasizing vulnerability as a strength and a catalyst for change.
Through her work with organizations such as the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth and Plan International Canada, Yasmin has demonstrated the ability to inspire others, create meaningful impact, and challenge the status quo toward a brighter future. In addition to her professional work, Yasmin is dedicated to continuous learning, seeking opportunities to enhance her skills in board governance and leadership. A strong believer in the power of collective action, Yasmin strives to lead with authenticity, compassion, and a commitment to driving positive change in her community.
