Shiza Hirani is a transformative leader, passionate advocate, and champion for social change with an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). As the founder of MentorNet Café, Shiza has created a platform where she merges arts and science to offer mentorship, soft skills development, and financial literacy to youth, helping them navigate their personal and professional growth. Shiza serves as a Youth Advisor to Senator Marilou McPhedran, where she advocates for policies that empower youth, promote gender equality, support climate action, and advance social justice. Her role on several advisory boards, including the Canadian Council of Young Feminists and the National Youth Ambassador Network for the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, enables her to empower young people to lead with purpose, challenge systemic barriers, and uplift marginalized voices.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Business Administration at the Hill School of Business at the University of Regina, Shiza is also working toward a Nonprofit Sector Leadership and Innovation Certificate, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and using education as a tool to break down barriers. Shiza’s impact is reflected in the numerous accolades she has received, including the JaxMac Award, the Ted Rogers Award, and the Savvy Fellowship, which recognizes young change agents dedicated to creating sustainable solutions. She has also been named a finalist for the DCCM Social Impact Award by Enactus and a finalist for YWCA Regina for her outstanding leadership efforts.
